One-Two Triangle Drill

This drill teaches the important skill of quick one-two passing. Make a triangle with 3 cones or markers as shown by the small orange circles in the picture below. The distance between each of the cones should be 5 to 7 yards (or 5 to 7 meters.)

1) Player A (blue) starts with the ball. Player A passes the ball to Player B (red.) As soon as Player A kicks the ball, Player A starts to run toward the open cone.

2) Player B (red) does a one-touch pass to the open cone that Player A (blue) is running toward. Player A receives the ball near the cone, controls it, and turns around to now face the other open cone.

3) Player A (blue) passes the ball to Player B (red.) As soon as Player A kicks the ball, Player A starts to run toward the open cone.

4) Player B (red) does a one-touch pass to the open cone that Player A (blue) is running toward. Player A receives the ball near the cone and controls it. Perform this drill 3 to 5 times, and then switch roles between Player A and Player B.
