Are You Getting Faster or Slower?

How do you know if you are getting faster or slower or staying about the same? You can look at the list of your races organized by date and see if the times are getting better or worse but this only works if you are making large improvements. A better method is to look at your last 10 races, assuming you have more than 10 races total captured, and count how many of them are faster than your average time. If 7 or more of the races are faster than your average time, then you are probably improving. If 7 or more of the races are slower than your average time, then you are probably getting worse. If neither of these conditions are true then you are staying about the same.

Track Your Competition

Using the Guruvi Swimming app you can capture the race times of your competitors. Using the information you capture, you can see how your opponent’s average and best times compare to yours. You can also determine if your opponent is improving faster than you are or if your opponent is more consistent than you. Then use the conclusion of your analysis to improve your training and set appropriate goals for yourself. To easily allow you to enter your opponent’s race times, the Guruvi Swimming app also allows you to manually enter race time. After starting the timer and then stopping it, touch the “Edit” button next to the timer result and a view is then shown that allows editing of the result.
